After a long series of tests, Instagram finally launched Candid Stories i.e. the function that is entirely inspired by BeReal, the app of the year on both Android and iPhone. These stories are by invitation only, when you receive the notification you will be able to take a photo that uses both smartphone cameras (front for selfies, rear for the location) so as to show what is being done at a given moment of the day. You will only be able to see your friends’ Candid Stories once you’ve published your own. But that’s not the only news presented by Meta regarding her social-app, because the Notes are also arriving.

As told on the official blog of Meta on Facebook, the Candid Stories will not be mandatory for everyone, but if desired, they can be deactivated from the settings. Whoever decides to take part in this sort of mini challenge will be able to pack this one private content (it will only be visible to friends) and limited duration with a swipe to activate the in-app camera or from the notification area. Once yours has been published, you will be able to view those of your contacts and thus bring the soul of BeReal into Instagram. In addition, there will also be i Group Profilesor collaborative pages available to friends, relatives or colleagues to share posts and stories that will remain limited to small sets of users and also the function Collaborative collections to save posts that deal with the same topic or joined together by any interest in a container shared with friends.

Finally, as proof that Instagram is also an app for communicating with words, here it is Notes to create texts of up to 60 characters with letters, numbers or emojis and share them with your friends by selecting them from your personal list. Notes have a limited life and will disappear for 24 hours, remaining available at the top of DMs by tapping the letter icon at the top.
