With the launch of the Kindle in 2022 edition (11th generation), Amazon offers three e-book readers on the market: this latest novelty announced this week is joined by Kindle Oasis and Kindle Paperwhite. A brief analysis of the characteristics of the two most recent models – then Paperwhite and Kindle 2022 – it can be of help for those interested in buying an e-book reader ed opted for a solution belonging to the Amazon ecosystem: the two devices have many points in common, yes, but the differences are there, and not only aesthetic.

DIMENSIONS AND SCREEN
Apparently the differences don’t seem to be that marked: Paperwhite is, yes, larger in size (it is taller and wider), but it is also thinner (8.1 vs 8.8mm). In short, from here you can start to direct your choice, opting for an e-book reader with a larger screen and slightly larger dimensions or rather choosing something more compact.
There is however the fact that Paperwhite has more optimized edges compared to the latest model freshly presented, with frames of just 10.2 mm on the sides. AUTONOMY
Under the heading autonomy there is a not … indifferent difference. If with Paperwhite you can easily get to 10 weeks of use, with the new Kindle it comes down to 6 weeks. This is still a considerable duration in absolute terms, but when compared to that of the Paperwhite, the battery life of the Kindle 2022 is much shorter.
Charging takes place on both via USB-C, on the other hand, times change: considering the use of a 9W or higher charger, charging times of 2 and a half hours are recorded for Paperwhite (from 0 to 100%) and 2 hours for Kindle 2022.
