OPINION:
The last four years have not been good for the FBI, which was once a remarkable crime-stopping agency. Instead of being a national police force, the FBI has served as a political hit unit for the Democratic Party, with a phony Democratic Party-supplied dossier that cost the taxpayers millions and effectively shut down the government and attacked a sitting president. This hasn’t been good for any of us, especially the FBI.
So what’s next? Our current president is old, plagued by what appear to be increasing mental- and physical-health problems. Anyone watching him on TV can see he is in trouble. The timely introduction of COVID-19 into the U.S. and the Biden campaign’s use of it gave the Democrats a win — and gave a loss to the man who should have been a shoo-in, former President Donald Trump.
The Democrats continue to weaponize everything at their disposal, including the FBI. The agency needs to regain credibility by getting back to its mission of being a national police force, not a political hit outfit. Defunding it will make its leadership really think hard about what it should be doing to remain in business. Money talks, so reducing its budget is sure to be an attention getter.
