OPINION:
The revelations about Twitter’s behavior by Elon Musk may have been surprising to non-discerning citizens, but what should truly amaze everyone is the mainstream media’s lack of reporting on the matter ( “Twitter executives shaped new policy to muzzle Trump,” Page 1, Dec. 12).
It is beyond understanding to me how anyone who refers to themselves as a journalist can show such little interest in the fact (and I repeat, fact, not suspicion) that government agencies such as the FBI and Department of Homeland Security conspired with Twitter executives to withhold relevant information prior to the 2018 general election.
The information released so far merely refers to the government agencies. What needs to be exposed now are the names and positions of the individuals involved, and the names of the senior-level people who approved their actions. The lack of media interest in this nefarious activity means that Congress will have to investigate the mess and report accordingly.
Only the New York Post should be eligible to accept a Pulitzer for reporting on the biggest story in recent years, one so many have chosen to ignore. This is in contrast to those who accepted prizes for their reporting on the supposed Russia-Trump collusion that has been thoroughly disproved. Yet these “reporters” somehow retain their useless Pulitzers.
