Over the past few days we have written about the new TTArtisan 35mm F0.95 lens designed for APS-C cameras which represents a good solution for those who are looking for an inexpensive lens with a large aperture (but giving up the autofocus). At the end of October too Meike had presented a similar model always designed for women mirrorless with sensor in small format. Now comes another model that changes the focal length while keeping the aperture unchanged: the new one Meike 25mm F0.95.

Also in this case the focus is on a simplified structure which also reduces the cost of production and the selling price. For users who want to expand their range of optics without having to invest a big budget (and obviously making some compromises). Below are the technical characteristics of this model from the Chinese manufacturer.

The technical characteristics of the Meike 25mm F0.95

As reported by the manufacturer on its website, the new lens features an optical design with 11 elements divided into 9 groups. The focal length of 25mm it is equivalent to about 38 mm on full-frame, guaranteeing a greater viewing angle (59.3° on APS-C and 47.6° on MQT) compared to the 35 mm solutions we wrote about above.

The new Meike 25mm F0.95 has a diaphragm with 13 blades, a maximum aperture of f/0.95 while the minimum is equal to f/16. This allows you to get a bokeh with a particular nuance and to shoot even in low light conditions. The minimum focusing distance is 25 cm and, as written above, there is no autofocus (allowing to reduce size, selling price, complexity and weight). There are no contacts in the bayonet part, as visible in the image below, so you will not have any additional information of any kind after the shot. A limitation, combined with that of the manual focus only, which is reflected in the reduced price.

At the front it is possible to install 62 mm filters. The official weight is equal to 600 grams with a design reminiscent of old optics (while the length seems longer than that of the 35mm f/0.95). The new Meike 25mm F0.95 it is available for Sony E, Canon RF, Canon EOS M, Fujifilm X, Nikon Z and MQT mounts. The price in Europe should be equal to 349.95 euros with availability starting December 15th.
