Microsoft has started the preview phase open to the public of Update Management Center (Update Management Center), a new tool that allows system administrators to manage updates of machines with Windows Server and Linux centrally.
Microsoft announces the public preview of the Update Management Center

The new Update Management Center is an evolution of a tool already available, the Azure Automation Update Management, which allows you to manage updates both on the machines in the cloud and on those locally. The new software will allow you to manage both machines on Azure, as well as those enabled for the use of Azure Arc, and will allow you to manage the installation of patches even in an automated way (in the case of virtual machines hosted in Azure). Compared to the previous version, the requirements and the process have been simplified onboarding.
The main purpose of the new service is to simplify the task of system administrators offering them a single tool with which to control all their machines, both physical and virtual, verifying their security and updating status. Precisely in terms of security, Microsoft gives the possibility to manage accesses with role-based control.
Currently the service does not yet offer support for all Linux distributions, but Microsoft has promised that it will expand it over the course of future updates. We will also introduce finer controls for Azure Arc, including services like Arc for Private Cloud, Virtual Machine Service, and Managed Kubernetes Service.
Further details are available inofficial announcement.
