Movboi introduced a new premium membership that seems to have failed to wow customers, at least those who commented on the announcement on Twitter. To expand the functionality related to TicWatch, the company had never asked for a payment, now it’s doing it for the first time. But it’s not so much this news that angered someone on Twitter, as the fact that there is no sign of the Wear OS 3 update which was promised by the end of the year.

Now 2022 is winding down, nothing seems to be moving on the update front and rather than an announcement or at least a note on the progress of work for Wear OS 3, the official release concerns a project on additional features that it will have cost something in terms of resources that potentially – it is the deduction of the disgruntled – have been subtracted from the Wear OS 3 issue.

ADVANCED ANALYSIS AND SLEEP-BELIEVING SONGS

Update aside, Mobvoi’s move is no different from that of its competitors. Indeed, the subscription also costs less than the 8.99 euros per month required for Fitbit Premium, for example. The payment required for those that are defined VIP functionality for the ecosystem Mobvoi is in Italy of about 3 euros per month (3.49 on iOS) or 30 euros per year (31.99 euros, always on iOS), prices that will in any case increase at the end of the promotional period (December 31st). In return you get:

  • 50 songs/soundtracks that promote sleep (12 of which are available for free, even for those who do not subscribe)
  • detailed information, thanks to artificial intelligence, on night rest, with sleep reminders and advice on each of the stages that compose it
  • weekly and monthly overviews of rest trends, with maximum and minimum frequency and SpO2 levels measured during the night.

There is no boost for the physical activities, which should explain the lower cost compared to Fitbit’s solution. Mobvoi’s VIP package is a gift for 6 months for those who own the new TicWatch GTH 2, which however is not (yet?) available in Europe. Pity.
