In the last few hours, Google has released one of many updates for its well-known virtual keyboard, which has not introduced any particular novelties but has left glimpse those we will see in the next future.

Thanks to the teardown done by 9to5Google it was in fact possible to find out what are the news for Gboard to which is working Google. Among these we find some important ones tweaks to the graphical interface of the virtual keyboard note.

The images you find in the gallery at the end of the article show what the new look of the keyboard will look like: the news is concentrated in the top barwhere the button to access the overflow menu corresponds to an icon of 3 x 3 grid. The various tabs associated with the different quick options of the overflow menu have also been updated.

These two introductions confirm Google’s desire to make the Gboard graphical interface more and more consistent with the most recent guidelines of the Material You.

In addition to these, we also see how Google intends redesign slightly the options between keyboard settings, making them wider. Furthermore, we also see how it intends to make the adoption of new switches shaped like an ellipse in the app settings.

What we have just seen has not yet been introduced publicly. We expect that within the next updates of Gboard will arrive officially.
