After months and months of announcements, the Chinese NIO finally officially landed in Europe, even outside Norway, starting the expansion from Germany. The company has always made it known that it wants to export not only its cars, but also the automated battery exchange systemwhich allows customers to leave with a fully charged car in a matter of minutes.
The first two stations are already operational in Norway, but from now on NIO is playing a very important card, that is its first factory outside of Chinaand will be used to build the European battery swap stations.

The factory just opened, and is located in Biatorbgy, in Hungary. The factory was announced on Power Day in early July, and was therefore completed in record time. It will be essential to reach the milestone of 1,000 European stations by 2025and the first, as a celebratory sign, game aboard a truck in the direction of Germany where, at the time of writing, it has already arrived.

The new structure will not only take care of producing the robotic stations (which you can see here in operation), but also of after-sales assistance, training and research to improve the product, the latter part in contact with the headquarters of Oxford and Silicon Valley. In addition to the stations will be added also the production of NIO branded columnswhich the manufacturer installs nearby as a back-up possibility, but which he also intends to distribute throughout the territory.
