They begin to flock more and more signs on the possibleand arrival of DJI Mini 2 SE during the dayan evolution of the previous low-cost model which introduces some small innovations and which could enter the catalog in the next few weeks.
On an aesthetic level there shouldn’t be any differences whatsoever and the leaked images tell us that the two models are practically indistinguishable, keeping the weight below the fateful threshold of 250 grams: this will also allow the latter to be used without a license, but it will be as always, registration on the D-Flight website and the stipulation of insurance, which is mandatory for any drone equipped with a camera, is required.
The most interesting news concerns the introduction of the OcuSync 2.0 transmission system, which in fact more than doubles the reachable distance. Mini SE’s Enhanced Wi-Fi did not allow exceeding 4 km and the new model could theoretically reach 10 km, but in fact it will change little in reality if we consider that in Italy there is an obligation to fly by sight.
There is then an improvement in the batteryof little importance apparently, given that from the previous 30 minutes the new model will be able fly for 31 minutes on a single charge.
Moving on to the chamber sector, the differences fade again and in fact we find the same system composed of the same 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor capable of capturing 2.7K video and up to 12 megapixel photosenhanced by a three-axis gimbal.
Finally we arrive at the presumed price pending official indications, which for sure it will remain under 400 euros for the basic version. It will obviously be possible to purchase the very complete Fly More Combo variant, supplied with additional batteries, replacement propellers and a carrying case, at an indicative price of just over 500 euros.
And what about availability? it won’t be on sale immediately but DJI could market it in March, but for this and other info it will be better to wait for the official communication, expected during the day.
We remind you that the latest model introduced by DJI in December is the Mini 3, a light version of the Pro variant.
