Google is continuing to work to enrich its applications with new features. Among the affected software, it can certainly be counted Google Photos. In particular, there is an app setting that is receiving an interesting update: it is the “Secure Folder”, which is a folder protected by password and which can therefore hide photos and library from the library. By the way, one of the features of this option is that the files placed in the folder are not subject to backup in the cloud to your Google account.
This detail has caused some problems for users which, consequently, have lost photos and videos while formatting their device or when switching to a new model. However, this criticality should be overcome soon thanks to the update of the Android app (version 6.23). In detail, a setting has been added dedicated to backup photos and videos from Secure Folder to the cloud.
However, the new setting is hidden in the app and therefore not yet accessible to all users.
In this regard, it can be assumed that this opportunity will soon will be made available to everyone. In short, Google seems to have finally solved a problem that several users had highlighted in the past. Finally, still in relation to Google Photos, the company has recently decided to simplify some settings. Among the changes, the name change of some sections, such as “Upload size” now known as “Backup quality”.
