DualSense Edge, designed for the most demanding PS5 gamers
To date, several customizable controllers have been made for PlayStation platforms, but with the DualSense Edge it is the first time that we have seen a peripheral of this kind produced by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Hideaki Nishino, Senior Vice President of the Platform Experience Division, explains that the new controller for PS5 will allow users to ‘shape’ your gaming experiencethanks to the numerous features it introduces.
Among the exclusive features of the DualSense Edge we find the possibility of ‘remap’ keys on the controller or even disable some button input altogether. Of course we can fine-tune the sensitivity and dead zone of the analog sticks, as seen on the aforementioned Elite Wireless Controller. Also rear triggers they can be customized through different options, for example reducing response times for greater responsiveness in FPS.

The changes made can be saved in different profiles, thus allowing players to switch from one setup to another at any time, automatically activating the most suitable settings for a specific game. This and other features will be accessible via a dedicated button (Fn), which flanks four new keys located on the back of the DualSense.
In addition to the unprecedented software customization, the analog sticks can be modified with three different types of interchangeable ‘caps’, which will help players maintain maximum comfort during the most demanding gaming sessions. Not only that, but the analog sticks of the DualSense Edge can be completely removed and replaced with new leverssold separately – a potential solution to the age-old problem of drifting. We will obviously find all the innovative features of the traditional DualSense, such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
The new DualSense Edge is sold with a USB Type-C cable in braided nylon And a case which uses USB connectivity to charge the controller during transport.

In the coming months Sony Interactive Entertainment will share more information on the DualSense Edge for PlayStation 5, such as the selling price and the launch date.
