Realme 10 Pro+ review

Realme 10 Pro+ is the spiritual successor of Realme 9 Pro+ which we liked it so much in 2022. Although not yet announced in our country, we wanted to try it to find out if it can keep Realme’s name high as a brand with an excellent value for money.

Packaging

Inside the package we find the 67W power supply, a USB / USB-C cable and a silicone cover.

Construction and Ergonomics

Realm 10 Pro+ it is a smartphone that is both elegant and simple. Yes, it is made entirely of plastic, but the finish is still of good quality and this choice still has the advantage of having kept the weight of the smartphone very low (only 173 grams). The smartphone also has sloping edges and this increases the sensation of subtlety, which is still really good (only 7.8 mm thick). In essence Realme 10 Pro + is promoted from a constructive point of view, even without having “invented” anything, but by transmitting a sensation premium significantly larger than its predecessor.

Hardware

There are not many technological advances from the hardware point of view. It is true that we have the new processor Size 1080 octa core 6nm, but it is also true that compared to the previous processor the only real big difference is in the clock frequency increased to 2.6 GHz.

Then we have a Mali G68 GPU, 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of non-expandable internal memory. Very good connectivity: dual SIM 5G, Wifi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC chips. The fingerprint reader inside the display is excellent, which is precise and fast in unlocking. The haptic feedback engine has also been improved, even if it does not reach the levels of the top of the range. Unfortunately, compared to the previous model, the audio jack for headphones disappears and therefore only the USB-C port remains as a method for connecting wired headphones.

Camera

Realm 10 Pro+ it is equipped with a triple camera system which is then joined by the front sensor. We have a camera from well 108 megapixels ƒ/1.8, an 8 megapixel wide angle ƒ/2.2 and a small 2 megapixel ƒ/2.4 for macro. Discarded the latter, too low resolution to be really interesting, the rest of the “kit” is interesting. The main camera takes sharp, sharply focused photos.

The high resolution also allows you to take interesting photos up to 3x zoom, essentially cropping a part of the original image. Don’t expect optical or lossless zoom, but it holds its own in its price range. The photos with the wide-angle camera are also sufficient, even if in particular light conditions the shots appear a bit dark.

Well overall the night shots that I enjoy an excellent automatic night mode, a little “invasive” but which gives excellent results. Activating the manual night mode helps to reduce the natural vignetting of these types of shots even a little. Sufficient shots from 16 megapixel front camerabut nothing out of the ordinary.

The videos are of excellent quality 4K at 30 fps and those in Full HD at 60 fps, but unfortunately they are not suitable for video recording on the move, given the poor stabilization. Better (unfortunately) to go down to Full HD at 30 fps where it is possible to record videos even from the wide angle.

Display

Realme 10 Pro+ has a large 6.7-inch diagonal display with FullHD+ resolution (1080 x 2412 pixels). It’s a great screen AMOLED with full support toHDR10+. Compared to the past, and even to many competitors in the price range, it is also one of the few to be curved on the edges. This won’t please lovers of completely flat displays, but it certainly helps convey a great quality feel. The screen has a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, 360Hz touch sampling, and a maximum peak brightness of 800 nits. In addition, the glass is reinforced with a technology Double Reinforced of which we don’t know much more. It’s still nice to see attention to these “details”. There is also an excellent system of always on display.

Software

Realm 10 Pro+ it is then the company’s first smartphone to arrive on the market already updated to Android 13 and with Realm UI 4.0.

The system is not only very fluid, but integrates some really interesting innovations. We have for example shelf for widgets borrowed from OnePlus, new always on display and a new sidebar that also supports playing audio from YouTube videos in the background. We have new “mega folders” on the home and more features like the shortcut to pull down all home icons near your finger or game tools. Also interesting is the new process manager, which puts some order among the open apps, really helping you to understand if there is any software that is too “energy-intensive”. The only drawback a few too many involuntary touches when taking photos.

Autonomy

The battery of this smartphone is a full-bodied one 5,000mAh which guarantees excellent autonomy, thanks to a very well balanced processor in terms of energy consumption. You will always arrive at the end of the day and completing two days with average use is anything but utopian.

In addition we also have the super fast charging at 67W.

Price

At the time of testing this smartphone we still do not know the price of this smartphone. We will update the review based on what the sale price will be. At launch last year, the predecessor cost €399. We think this could cost more (even considering the generalized price increases), but we are also confident that Realme will be able to offer the smartphone at launch with some tempting promotions.

Final judgement

Realm 10 Pro+

Without knowing the price it is impossible to evaluate it completely, but it is easy to think that Realme can offer it in some tempting launch promotion. Realme 10 Pro + is a greedy smartphone, as we have seen few in the recent past: excellent display, fluid and complete software, better than average cameras and also good autonomy. Basically the complete package.
