Finnish developer Remedy has stated that Alan Wake 2 is now in “full production” and already playable from start to finish. On the sidelines of the financial results, the software house said: “The game will soon have all the content in its place and is playable from start to finish”. The next phase of development involves polishing the game for launch.

“Alan Wake is a unique brand that has high value for the company today,” said Remedy. Alan Wake 2 is funded and published by Epic Games, who financially supported the creation of Alan Wake Remastered. The latter, according to the Finnish house, has not yet generated profitstherefore Remedy received no royalties because “Epic Games Publishing has not yet recouped the development and marketing costs for the game”.
Remedy expects sales of Alan Wake Remastered to pick up closer to the release of Alan Wake 2 this year (on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Series S, and PC via the Epic Games Store). In addition to Alan Wake 2, Remedy is developing Vanguard (it’s a codename), a free-to-play co-op game co-published by Tencent. Currently Vanguard is still in the “proof of concept” stage.
At the same time work continues for a spin-off of Control, codenamed Condorand a bigger game still Control-related called at the moment Heron. Condor is also in the proof of concept stage, while Heron is “in the concept stage and its prototyping continues”.
And as if that weren’t enough, Remedy is working with Rockstar Games ai remake of Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. “Max Payne clearly has a special place in the hearts of not only Remedians but also gamers around the world. We are very excited to bring the remade game to market for old and new fans alike,” said Remedy.
