The Skoda Kodiaq hit the market in 2017 and received a facelift in 2021. This model is very important for the car manufacturer as it has enjoyed good commercial success. 94,500 units of this SUV were sold last year. It is, therefore, the third best-selling model in 2022 from the Skoda house behind Octavia and Kamiq.
The builder is already working to the next generation of this model that could debut by the end of 2024. A forklift of the new SUV was intercepted on the road during the classic winter tests on the roads of Northern Europe that the car manufacturers are conducting in this period.
DEBUT IN 2024
The star car of spy photo still features ample camouflage. However, despite this, some details can be observed. The forms seem to be the definitive ones. The grille appears to be placed a little higher than that of the current model, while the front light clusters will once again be split. You can also see how Skoda has redesigned the shapes of the front bumper.
Behind, unfortunately, very little can be seen due to the extensive camouflage. However, it appears that the taillights are now in line with the protruding section of the tailgate. It seems that the new Skoda Kodiaq can grow slightly in length to improve the space inside the passenger compartment. Recall that this SUV is also available today in 7-seater versions.
The images do not show the cockpit. However, one can easily think that various innovations will also arrive on the technology front with the introduction of a latest generation infotainment system. The new SUV will continue to be based on the Volkswagen Group MQB platform. As for the engines, at the moment there is no precise information. However, we will most likely find endothermic engines, also equipped with Mild Hybrid technology, as well as Plug-in powertrain.
Given that the debut of the new generation of the Skoda Kodiaq is still missing some time, surely there will be a way to find out more over the next few months.
