Android 13 QPR2 Beta 3.1: the news
Released just one week after the third beta of QPR2, version 3.1 is identified by the build number T2B3.230109.004 and contains the following new features:
- fixed an issue with the bluetooth module system, which, according to the release notes, could have allowed for possible out-of-bounds writes due to memory corruption
- correct some Romanian translations missing from the system image. As you can see, nothing too serious when it comes to bug fixes, but these fixes are good nonetheless.
As regards the security patches hey Google Play Servicesnothing new since last week’s update.
In fact, the first ones remain those of February, while the seconds are fixed to the version 23.03.13.
As you can see, this isn’t a massive update, and in fact the size comes in at just a little 21MB.
How to update
If you want update, being already registered for the beta, you will already know everything, but nevertheless let’s refresh your memory or give some indications to those approaching the question for the first time.
There QPR2 beta 3.1 is available for the following devices Pixels:
- Pixel 4a, 4a 5G
- Pixel 5, 5XL
- Pixel 5a
- Pixels, 6 Pro
- Pixel 7, 7 Pro
The update is available via OTA (Over-The-Air) going into the settings, clicking on System and then logging in to System update. From there you can click on Update.
If you prefer to install the build manually you can do it either via factory image or via file OTAtaking care to first carry out a backups of the phone. TO this address find the factory images, while here you find OTA files.
If you have never installed one beta version of Android, you must first sign up for this address (if you do not have suitable devices you will not be able to start the procedure), after which you will find the update available in the system settings seen above.
