NEW DELHI: Suryakumar Yadav always hogs the limelight for his exploits with 360 degree style of batting and created numerous records in the T20I cricket that catapulted him to top of the rankings in the format.
But the Indian batter is in the headlines these days for his woeful run in ODIs with the bat that even made him to own an unwanted record. Suryakumar became the first Indian batter to register three successive golden ducks in ODIs during India’s third match against Australia in Chennai.
After being trapped in front by Aussie pacer Mitchell Starc on the first ball he faced in the first two ODIs, Suryakumar made it three in a row when he was cleaned up by spinner Ashton Agar.
Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah are the other Indian batters to have registered three consecutive ducks in ODIs.
Overall, Yadav was the 14th batter to register three golden ducks on the trot. The list includes names like Alec Stewart, Andrew Symonds and Shane Watson.
