Suzuki expands the S-Cross range with the introduction of the S-Cross Hybrid 1.5 140V version. It is a model equipped with the same hybrid powertrain found on the Vitara Full Hybrid 1.5 140V. In Italian dealerships, the new model will be available from September.

The “Web Edition” can be purchased at price of 33,090 euros. Cost that also includes the extension of the two-year “Suzuki Smile” warranty (up to 5 years in total).
HYBRID POWERTRAIN
The novelty of the S-Cross Hybrid 1.5 140V is obviously its powertrain. According to Suzuki, we have a 4-cylinder naturally aspirated Atkinson cycle of 1.5 liters and with a 13: 1 compression ratio of 75 kW (102 HP) combined with a 24.6 kW MGU motor generator, powered by a traction battery. from 140V. The car can also count on AGS robotised gearbox (Automatic Gear Shift) with sequential function which is placed between the clutch and the electric motor generator. The battery (lithium-titanate) has a total capacity of 840 Wh and has been housed in the double bottom of the boot which thus maintains its volume (430 liters) unchanged. The technology chosen for the battery offers some advantages such as greater reliability, less degradation over time and greater efficiency, even in a higher temperature range. Traction is integral.
The Japanese automaker adds that when starting and at low speed, the car moves only in electric mode. With the battery fully charged, in electric mode it is possible to reach a speed of 80 km / h or cover a distance of up to 4.5 km.
As speed increases, the electric motor leaves the thermal motor to push the S-CROSS while sailing when the petrol unit is turned off and uncoupled from the wheels. The DualJet engine and the electric one can sometimes also act together when the rider accelerates decisively, in order to guarantee lively inspiration and great driving pleasure. During the most intense decelerations, the motor generator provides regenerative braking and charges the 140V battery, an operation that sometimes carries out if necessary even at constant speed, using some of the power of the thermal engine.
To further optimize fuel consumption, the S-Cross Hybrid 1.5 140V has the “Eco” mode which favors electric traction and makes the throttle responses smoother, adjusts the climate control and any four-wheel drive so that they involve less load for the heat engine.
EQUIPMENT
Suzuki S-Cross Hybrid 1.5 Starview 4WD AllGrip AT Web Edition can count on a rich standard equipment. Furthermore, it will be the only version available in the first marketing period with the new 140V version.
