TCL has created a smartphone without reflections: behold NXTPAPER Phone!

One of the most interesting technology that TCL extension led to MWC 2023 of Barcelona is called NXT PAPER 2.0. Although the name may recall paper, we are talking about a novelty dedicated to smartphone, tablet and notebook displays, capable of offering an out-of-the-ordinary visual rendering. NXTPAPER screens have a matte effect and allow you to avoid any kind of reflectionas if looking at a sheet of paper.

We tried the technology live TCL NXT PAPER 2.0 on some devices at MWC 2023. Below you will find our short video in which we show you the tablet the tablet TCL NXT PAPER 11 and the brand new TCL NXT PAPER Phonea prototype never seen before.

Technology TCL NXT PAPER 2.0 is a direct evolution of the one already seen on some tablets in 2021. Over the years the company has continued to improve this technology for i dull displayswhich are layered and optimized to look great from any angle.

Compared to the first generation, the new NXTPAPER 2.0 displays offer a 150% higher brightness (up to 500 nits) and above all a very good reduction of blue light, thanks to hardware-level filtering that avoids having to yellow the colors of the screen. All this produces a great help for eye health and reduces eye strain.

The coolest thing about NXTPAPER 2.0 screens is that avoid reflections: Even in brightly lit environments, there are no artifacts or color halos on the display. We could almost say that they look like e-ink screens, but the functions are instead those typical of high-end LCD screens, with a nice rendering of colors and contrasts.

The two products equipped with these screens that we tested live in Barcelona are the TCL NXTPAPER 11 tablet and the smartphone prototype TCL NXT PAPER Phonewhich made a very good impression on us from all points of view – it really needs to be said.

Both are high-end products and offer a pretty good user experience, further enriched by the glare-free screen.

As for availability, we know that the tablet TCL NXT PAPER 11 it will be available by the first half of 2023, but a price is not known. The new TCL NXT PAPER Phone instead it is only a prototype at the moment, but could be commercialized if there is interest in the product.
