Raise your hand who, over the years, had given Tesla for dead, or dying. In fact the company of Elon Musk she went through at least a couple of moments in which she took a big risk, but once she understood how to mass produce without bottlenecks she was able to constantly surpass herself.
Which happened, as predicted by analysts, also this quarter. Tesla has just released production and delivery data in the Q3and we find that the cars ended up in the hands of customers there were over 343,000. Production went far beyond, and deliveries were not completed only due to logistical difficulties: 365,000 cars left the factoriesso 22,000 already ready to increase the numbers for the fourth quarter.
In fact, almost all analysts agreed on deliveries between 350,000 and 370,000, a quota that was possible given the production. However, it is the new quarterly record, for more than 30,000 units. Going into detail, the Model 3 and Y produced were about 346,000, of which 325,000 were delivered. The Model S and X flagships, as always, are a much lower number – just under 20,000 produced and 18,672 delivered. Note that all cars not delivered during the quarter are already soldso safe numbers for the next round.

Just on the occasion of the quarterly data, Tesla also confirmed that there Berlin’s GigaFactory churning out 2,000 cars a week, as expected a few weeks ago. And precisely the growth in the production volume of the new factories, Berlin to Austin, which guided the forecasts for the near future. Many agree that Tesla could touch half a million cars in Q4, which would mean deliveries of 1.4 million in 2022, and about 2 million in 2023.
This would definitely put it in the orbit of big names in traditional automotive, such as Mercedes and BMW, just to stay in the luxury car segment. Last year, the two German houses sold 2.1 million and 2.5 million cars respectively, a number that now really appears in Tesla’s ropes, and is likely to cause more than a few concerns in the Stuttgart and Munich offices.
