THE pool cleaner robot they are an ideal solution for plant maintenance above ground or traditional underground type: every day they collect the dirt that settles on the bottom and on the walls, preventing it from accumulating and favoring the proliferation of microorganisms or algae. These gadgets are part of the large group of intelligent home appliances, such as robotic vacuum cleaners or floor cleaners and robotic lawnmowers that can take the place of the human inhabitants of the house in the daily maintenance tasks.

In our selection we have chosen eight models of robot cleaners of various types, characteristics and price ranges in order to meet all needs and dedicate ourselves to the various pools that can be found in single houses or small or large condominiums.

What are pool cleaning robots

There are three substantial types of robot cleaners for swimming pools, namely those of the hydraulic type, those of the pressure type and those of the electric type. Understanding the difference between these three categories is the starting point to better understand which model is best suited to personal needs.

  • THE plumbing pool cleaners robots they work by connecting to a mud vacuum / brush socket (usually with loop and cap) or to a skimmer / skimmer (the “cup” that conveys the water to the filtering system) and obtain the propulsion from the filtration pump in the pool to move in all directions and collect the dirt deposited by vacuuming it. This solution is ideal for those on a limited budget or for those who own a small or medium-sized pool which can therefore be kept clean without any particular effort.
  • THE robot cleans the pressure pool they work much like plumbing, but can be connected to a separate pump to provide just the right hydraulic pressure to support movement in the pool. For this reason it is recommended above all for large underground surfaces, but they are a particular type and therefore we will not take them into consideration in this selection.
  • The third and last category is also the most recent and popular one or that of electric pool cleaner robots which work autonomously thanks to the small built-in electric motor and powered by current that allows these devices to move in any direction to collect dirt. Each of these robots is also of the smart type since it can be programmed via the companion app to choose the duration of the cleaning and also to set specific work areas. This type of robot is good for any type of pool and is also the simplest to use and maintain, but of course it can lead to higher prices.

Once the various differences between the pool cleaning robots have been ascertained, all that remains is to underline which are the most important parameters to be taken into consideration for the purchase. In the first place there is undoubtedly the area to be covered which is obtained for example from the specifications of the models in the case of an above ground pool, or by checking the construction project or by calculating the surface manually for those underground. In the case of above ground pools, the surface of the perimeter must also be considered, which can be soft if it has a self-standing or stalls or rigid pvc model.

Each of these types of swimming pools therefore involves the choosing a specific robot and for this reason in our selection we cover all possible fields of application, with even cheaper alternatives.
