Telegram Channel Offers

In fact, a few weeks ago we talked about the curious decision by Google to unify Meet and Duo, two very similar services that offer the possibility of carrying out calls and video calls. In addition to the new Meet, we learned of the introduction of Meet (original), which differs from the classic Meet for the icon that has greenish tones and which offers the features proposed by Meet before the merger with Duo.

The story seemed curious enough to end there, but incredibly Google adds a new chapter. In the last few hours in fact the Duo icon is back on the app which had just been renamed to Meet. And as if that weren’t enough, the Meet remains available together with Meet (original).

Let’s recap: they are currently available three very similar entities between them. Meet and Duo are exactly the same, two icons to access the exact same app. Meet (original) allows you to access the app that was originally called Meet.

The novelty refers to the version 173 of the app that has now been renamed Duo again. You should have received too update via the Play Store. Initially it was ad a mistake on Google’s part, waiting for it to be corrected. In reality, Google officially commented on the story claiming to have intentionally reintroduced Duo to help people accustomed to the name “Duo” to launch the app.

However, it remains to be understood what Google intends to do long-term with Meet and Meet (original). We hardly believe that i definitive names services will be these. To be honest, we don’t even see the need to keep them both as they essentially offer the same stuff.
