They have been assigned in the past few hours i The Game Awards 2022: there were 31 categories this year for what can be considered the equivalent of the Oscars for the world of video games. As usual, the most observed category is that of the Game of The Year, that is the best game overall, which Elden Ring turned out to be this year. For each category there were multiple titles to choose from – generally around five: the public was an integral part of the process of choosing the winners, as everyone was able to vote by registering an account.
Soon we will show you all the winners, but in the meantime some quick considerations. We can say that the top categories were basically dominated by a handful of titles – God of War Ragnarök (review), Horizon Forbidden West (review) and Elden Ring stand out in particular. Ragnarök is the absolute nomination championwith 10, closely followed by Elden Ring with 8. Stray stands out among the surprises of the yearBlueTwelve Studio’s “cat simulator” which even has a perfect score of 10/10 on Steam (more precisely, 97% positive reviews out of a total of just under 48,000).
