Galaxy S23 Ultra, the top of the range from Samsung presented just a couple of weeks ago, is certainly one of the smartphones most interesting of 2023. Among the many excellent technical specifications, we dwell on the display which convinced both us (in our review we defined it “perfect”) and DxOMark.

In fact, the famous French magazine wanted to get its hands on the device and conducted its usual and accurate tests on the display of Galaxy S23 Ultra. Obviously, the score scored by the screen is very high and therefore Samsung confirms itself once again “the queen of displays”.

First, let’s recap the specifications techniques of the screen:

  • Panel AMOLED from 6.8 incheswith approximately 90.7% screen-to-body ratio
  • Dimensions: 163.4 x 78.1 x 8.9mm
  • Resolution: 1440 x 3088 pixels, pixel density of 500 ppi
  • Aspect ratio: 19.3:9
  • Refresh rates: 120Hz

Galaxy S23 Ultra’s screen scored well 148 pointswhich allow the smartphone to position itself in third place in the general classification, behind iPhone 14 Pro Max And iPhone 14 Pro (with 149 points).

The score is then divided as follows:

  • Readability: 159 out of 160
  • Colors: 135 out of 163
  • Video: 162 (best)
  • Motion (i.e. how dynamic content is handled): 152 out of 155
  • Touch: 139 out of 165
  • Artifacts: 118 out of 149

Between sides positive of the Galaxy S23 Ultra display we mention the excellent readability in practically any light condition, extremely accurate video reproduction and good color fidelity. Between sides negatives instead we find a minimum brightness that is too high and a level of detail that is not always at its best indoors.
