The works of Il Terzo Segreto di Satira always start from a rather lucid observation of the problems of our society and our politics: what themes will be touched upon in this special?

“Basically, everything we tell starts from what we see, what we hear, what is around us: war, poverty, pandemics, government changes, previous and new problems, climate change, immigration, inclusion, political correctness, greater sensitivity and fewer and fewer certainties… However, if we had to summarize everything, in an era in which civil rights are rightly defended as fundamental and unavoidable values, one cannot fail to notice that social rights are instead increasingly at risk, poverty is increasing more and more and that the first always remain first and the last are always more last”.

In the teaser of the film there is a 50-year-old man who laments the fact of having become an “extra” in his own life: do you also feel the passage of time?

Absolutely yes. Both as private citizens and as regards our profession. Since 2011 we have been trying to make satire and certainly our vision of the world or of the future also depends on what we have “been through”, both professionally and humanly. This then is a particular era, where everything perhaps runs too fast and where we pass very quickly, thanks also to social networks, from being an extra to being a protagonist. The opposite happens much more often, the classic “from rags to riches”, and it is usually where people “get hurt the most”. It is a disposable age, in which content (and content creators) is consumed with disarming speed and where what works today is ready to be replaced by the novelty of tomorrow.the”.

You said: “Many times you have asked us: when do you make new videos? And for this reason we are proud to present this special”. How do you combine the needs of an ever-fresh creativity with the pace of today’s publications, which instead have increasingly fast pace?

“If video content must be consumed with disarming speed, inevitably, quality takes a back seat. In our journey, for the first few years we tried to publish videos periodically and try to surpass ourselves in quality and depth of content, time after time. Sometimes we succeeded, sometimes not. However, this mechanism has often been unnerving and not very functional to the language we prefer, which necessarily takes longer. So in an age where everything goes too fast, we slow down”.
