To date, all music playback apps use the same design, so as not to create confusion for users: apps of this type have a home screen, which collects playlists, albums or recommended songs, and a button to view the card “Now Playing”. This card is the one that offers i playback controls and shows cover art, song title, album title and, of course, artist.

In Android Auto 7.9 it is this screen that is different: as you can see from the screenshots below, which compare the screen Now playing on Android Auto 7.9 and 7.8, the new UI features a slightly different design for the buttons and also lbar indicating playback is placed horizontallyand no longer around the pause button.

This is a small difference that is unlikely to change the life of Android Auto users, but it certainly makes the screen “cleaner” and makes it clearer what is missing at the end of a song. But Google doesn’t stop there: in Android Auto version 7.8 a bug concerning the screen has been fixed Now playing.

Now the blurred background no longer presents defects on large displays: first in fact, on very large displays, the background was cut off, while now it takes up all the available space. This instead is a much more interesting change, which improves the interface of the Android Auto player on very large screens

Users of Android Auto will soon be able to try many new features on the operating system: Google has announced that one will soon arrive new interface viewwhich will allow to have three apps at the same time and will allow the system to also adapt to screens of non-canonical shapesas well as support for ai suggestions on actions to be taken through Google Assistant.

We also remind you that Android Auto’s smartphone app has now retired: this means that to use Android Auto it will be necessary to have a compatible car or in any case a third-party infotainment system that supports the operating system.
