2022 has been a year of great comics. Italian and international authors they have found a home on the shelves of our local bookstores. All the souls of comics have found space in the thriving publishing dedicated to bande dessinée in Italy: established and new authors, masters of traditional comics and independentbut also webtoons and deluxe hardcovers, booklets from newsstands and manga.
Rigorous classification is impossible; too different and unique the genres, styles, themes and ambitions of the works to establish who is higher than the other in a hypothetical ranking. Here then is not a “top” 20, but one selection of 20 of the best titles released in 2022, which you try to mirror the heterogeneity and the variety of comic book publishing in Italy.
