To move away from the chaos generated by paid verification, Twitter is about to introduce a system that will introduce different colors for the coveted sticker which certifies a particular user. The aim is to put some order and at the same time to avoid problems due to the illegitimate impersonation of celebrities or famous brands, as happened – for demonstration purposes or not – in recent days. As anticipated by Elon Musk, there will be three shades that is the blue one, the gray one and also the golden one, which will differ according to the type of page. The procedure will not be easy at all, since the managers will have to check the profiles one by one.
With the due premise that everything that is happening in these hours could be overturned over and over again as per practice when Elon Musk is involved in any project, at this moment Twitter is preparing to welcome three different types of verification stamp:
- Blue sticker for celebrities and well-known personalities;
- Gray stamp for government authorities;
- Gold sticker for companies.
The novelty should start from next December 2nd resuming a path undertaken last November 9 with the paid blue badge for subscribers of the Twitter Blue subscription at 8 dollars per euro (not active in Italy), suspended after just two days given the numerous cases of impersonation and fake profiles both demonstrative purpose to tell the fallacy of the option both for scam attempts or operations that later turned out to be disastrous. It does not seem that it will be the prerogative only of those who pay to have the certification since it should also involve those who have already been previously verified. And the controversial profiles that have been rehabilitated.
