A few months ago, Vivo has officially presented the new X Fold+, the updated version of Vivo X Fold launched earlier this year. Now we are been invited to the brand’s Milan offices for a first test: still there are no confirmations regarding the possible arrival in our area, but in the meantime we were able to get a general idea

As had already emerged from the rumors, the differences compared to the previous model are not many and concern more than anything else some refinements that aim to make the Vivo foldable more up-to-date and performing.

In particular we are witnessing the transition to the platform Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 which, accompanied by an increase in the battery from 4,600 to 4,730mAhallows the smartphone to get up to 2 hours of extra use compared to the predecessor. This is an improvement that is also accompanied by a slight performance jump – about 10% – in line with that recorded by all other smartphones equipped with this chip.

Vivo has also introduced a new custom chip dedicated to security, called SP extensionand has further improved the charging capabilities of the X Fold+, which now supports 80Wagainst the 66 W of its predecessor, which now allows you to reach the 70% in just 18 minutes and full charge in 35 minutes. The 50 W wireless charging remains unchanged.

Among other novelties we find the new Huaxia red coloring, which offers a leatherette finish on the back, which joins the other two already present. Overall these are the main changes compared to the last generation, while for the rest we find very similar specifications to the first X Fold.

In particular we find a 8″ UTG foldable display with 4:3.55 aspect ratio and 2K+ resolutionvariable refresh rate from 1 to 120Hz (LTPO) and in-display fingerprint sensor. The front screen remains a 6.53 “unit, FHD + and also in this case we find the biometric sensor.

No news on the front too photographicas we find the same compartment composed of a main from 50 MegaPixels, a 48 MegaPixel wide angleone 12MP 2x telephoto and a zoom 8 MP periscope (5x optical and 60x digital). We conclude by mentioning the memory cuts – 12GB LPDDR5 and 256/512GB RAM of internal memory UFS 3.1 – and the inclusion of various software features that allow you to use Vivo X Fold+ even in various angles, thanks to the hinge that allows you to lock the panel in different positions.

Vivo X Fold+ is currently only available in China priced at 9,999 yuan (approximately 1,446 euros) for the model 12/256GBwhile switching to 10,999 yuan (approximately 1,590 euros) for the version 12/512GB. Both variants are offered with an 80W charger with dual Type-C ports included in the package. There are no details regarding availability in Europe.
