Have you ever wondered what are the best-selling smartphones of the month? We are and today we are here to answer this question thanks to you and to the sales figures relating to purchases made by HDblog users on Amazon! There are no price or specific limits, for those we refer you to our buying guides, the only thing that matters in this top 5 is the number of sales generated in the month. So, without getting lost in a thousand words, let’s find out January’s top five best-selling smartphones!

INDEX

FIRST PLACE: REDMI NOTES 11S 4G

In first place of the best-selling smartphones we find surprisingly the Redmi Note 11S in 4G version with 28% of overall sales of the month while the 5G version is completely absent. If we consider that the average purchase price was €195 the difference between the two versions is not that big but the specifications of the two devices are quite different.

Without prejudice to the absence of 5G, paradoxically Redmi 11s 4G has excellent features including an AMOLED display compared to the IPS of the 5G version with a maximum refresh rate of 90Hz (same as 5G). Another specification that makes the 4G model a better choice is the 108Mpx camerapractically the same as the much more expensive Redmi while the 5G version stops at the 50Mpx already seen on the basic Redmi Note 11 which are a bit disappointing in low light situations.

Autonomy thanks to fast charging at 33W and ai 5000mAh is infinite: the Mediatek Helio G96 chip it performs absolutely not badly compared to the Dimension 810 of the 5G version.

SECOND PLACE: GOOGLE PIXEL 7

In second place we find the outsider of this ranking: Google Pixel 7 and, I tell you this, it will be the only “dear” of this special Top 5. The average purchase price was in fact equal to € 610 and we try to understand why among all the smartphones of 2022 we find him.

The Pixel 7 takes up that top of the range concept at the right price with some sacrifices such as the telephoto lens, a refined design with perhaps expensive but useless curved edges, a display at the top of the category and other quotation marks which for many users, however, may be superfluous. In all these cases, buying Pixel 7 compared to the Pro version or other top of the range allows us to save a lot but still find ourselves in hand a device that is balanced, does everything and does it quite well with some peaks of excellence for photos!

I have personally used the Pixel 6 for a whole year experimenting with the Tensor which is true will not be the best SOC ever but for a social / photographic use of the smartphone it is perfect with the right compromise between consumption and performance. They make the difference software algorithms which allow you to take photos and record videos that can also keep up with the iPhone 13 Pro. Deserved second position with about 18% of sales.

THIRD PLACE: REDMI NOTES 10 PRO

Third place comes directly from 2021 with the Redmi Note 10 Pro which snatches about 11% of overall sales and an average price of €210. It may sound strange but really tells us a sad truth: the mid-range in the last two years have evolved so little (indeed, they have often evolved) that if you find the right price, it is often better to buy those even two generations earlier!

The only big limitation of a Redmi Note 10 Pro in 2023 are the updates which inevitably are almost at the end credits but apart from that we have a AMOLED displays all level, one Snapdragon 732G who still defends himself very well and one 5000mAh battery which behaves on a par with the new Redmi! Another point that makes the Note 10 Pro similar if not almost the same as the new Redmi is the 108Mpx main camera which has evolved little in the last two years!

And would you have expected a medium-low range Xiaomi from two generations ago in this ranking?

FOURTH PLACE: XIAOMI MI 11T PRO

Total supremacy of Xiaomi thanks to the Mi 11T Pro in fourth place with the 10% of total sales. With a average price of €369 also an almost top of the line like this end of 2021 he still manages to have his say, thanks also to the Hardware still respectable.

Analyzing the reasons why a Mi 11T Pro can still be taken into consideration we find the FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz dynamic refresh rateone very fast charging at 120W which together with the Snapdragon 888 it’s a 5000mAh battery allow for high, very high level performance and autonomy.

Even the photographic sector still defends itself well if we think that smartphones in this price range still too often lack OIS while as for the secondary rooms we do not find too much difference considering that this 11T Pro boasts an ultra-wide angle and a macro camera low level secondary (a tele would have been better).

Those looking for a mid-range “on steroids” definitely found in this 11T Pro yet a great buy with always the lack of updates considering that we are talking about a 2021 phone.

FIFTH PLACE: SAMSUNG GALAXY A33 5G

Fifth and last place occupied by a Samsung, the Galaxy A33 5Gwho tries to steal a few percentage points from Xiaomi!

The A33 5G with a average price of €220 and 10% of total sales turns out to be an excellent purchase for those who have been used to the Samsung experience with the One UI for years and are looking for a mid-range that is both well built and runs well overall. It should be emphasized that we are faced with the only smartphone with IP67 certification of medium / low range in this top 5 with the exception of the IP68 of the Pixel 7 which has another price positioning.

Among the various flagship features it is certainly worth mentioning the AMOLED FHD+ display, the main camera at 48mpx with OIS extension which together with the selfie cam with 4K video complete a noteworthy photographic package. Finally the presence of an Exynos 1280 SOC allows you to run the system more than worthily. Finally, not to be overlooked fingerprint reader under the display and stereo sound. Impossible not to say that at this price it is one of the most complete smartphones that you could buy but… would you ever recommend it?

5+1: SAMSUNG GALAXY M13 4G

In “last position” as an extra it is worth noting the Galaxy M13 4G that with a 7% of sales and an average price of 149€ shows how phones under €200 are still sought after even if we are dealing with a product from a few years ago. The Notch a V around the IPS displaysthe 60Hz refresh ratei 4GB of RAM together with the 64GB of EMMC storage these are just some of the somewhat “old-fashioned” features of this Galaxy M13 4G.

Camera side excluding the 50MP JM1 main sensor, we can only rely on the 5MP ultrawide usable mostly for emergencies. unfortunately theExynos 850 is taken verbatim from the previous M12 and begins to feel the weight of the years, albeit 5000mAh of battery ensure excellent autonomy.

And would you have expected an M13 4G in the standings, albeit outside the top 5 positions?
