WhatsApp is down today October 25th, but the problems are not limited to Italian soil. In fact, reports of inefficiencies from all over the world are arriving.
As of this writing, there are reports of problems from Portugal, Spain, Germany, Japan, Swiss, Norway, Brazil and many other nations, States United included. At this point we suspect that the problem is more serious than expected, considering that it involves practically all users of WhatsApp.
In the meantime, the situation in Italy is certainly no better. The messaging app hasn’t worked for almost an hour now, and the best part is that on Downdetector many report downs related to operators. There are peaks of reports involving Iliad, Vodafone, WindTre and also the other operators. This is obviously an error of assessment, given that the malfunction is limited to WhatsApp.
In the meantime, there are also those who find gods slowdowns on Telegram. It is very likely that millions of users have flocked to the servers of the adversary messaging app, if only to be able to communicate while waiting.
The hashtag #WhatsAppDown is in trending on Twitter, but at the moment there is a lack of official information regarding the reason for the down and above all on any recovery times for correct functioning.
At the moment on official WhatsApp accounts there are no confirmations of the outage, nor indeed messages indicating resolution times or the reason for the down. In the meantime, the reports on Italian DownDetector are slightly decreasing, but in the comments section there are still dozens of users reporting inefficiencies. The same problem obviously plagues also WhatsApp Business.
