A few weeks ago Microsoft launched the first update Moment – unofficial name – for Windows 11 22H2. Its purpose was to enable those features of the latest release of the OS that were not made available to users at its launch. These were important innovations, such as the tabs on File Explorer or the overflow of the taskbar, among the main ones.

Furthermore, as you can imagine, the one just released is not the only Moment update in Microsoft’s plans. Moment 2 has already been planned by Microsoft and will arrive in the first quarter of 2023 and, just like Moment 1, the new package is expected to introduce new features, some of which are already at the mercy of Microsoft’s internal testing. Among these, the company has already talked about a new taskbar more comfortable on touch devices, without to officially mention the plans for the release of the new update.
Windows 11, also a Moment 3 update coming in 2023?
It also seems that in addition to Moment 2 there is also in Microsoft’s plans Moment 3. A first reference to the future update of Windows 11 22H2 was sighted from the Twitter channel PhantomOcean3, always quite prolific with the rumors of the Redmond giant. The user reported a new feature under trial on build 22623.885 released in the Beta channel, called “MTestUx14” (ID 41655236) and probably linked to a future Moment update after the one at the beginning of 2023.
According to the user, the ID used for the feature is similar to the one that has already been linked to the Moment 1 and 2 updates, with Microsoft therefore thinking of releasing additional features on Windows 11 22H2 following the debut of Moment 2. For Moment 3, however, we will have to wait several months, with its release scheduled not before mid-2023.
