In Nintendo’s desert summer, which skipped the traditional June Direct, there is only one oasis: Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The release of the JGDR in fact in April was unexpectedly anticipated by a couple of a couple of months, and received special treatment with a Direct entirely dedicated last month that briefly interrupted the radar silence of the Kyoto giant.
And so since yesterday, Friday 29 July, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is available for purchase in physical and digital versions for Nintendo Switch. Below you will find the trailer with which the Kyoto giant has decided to accompany the launch, short but full of characters and action.
While waiting for the public to play it and then have their say (but it will take some time, with the adventure that takes at least 60 hours to complete, and well surpasses 100 if you want to complete everything), the criticism is it is already expressed and it has done so in a very positive way. As of this writing, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has a overall score of 89 on Metacritic. In short, the last chapter of the saga seems to live up to its predecessors (the Definitive Edition was released on Switch two years ago, which we rewarded in our review).
DLC: AT LEAST 20 HOURS OF HISTORY
During the June Direct entirely dedicated to the game, Nintendo did not limit itself to presenting the main story but also revealed the plans for future expansions coming soon. The Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass is already available today at the price of 29.99 eurosand the release of the additional contents is staggered into four distinct phases, with the first – which is obviously also the least rich, and is limited to the addition of color variations for clothing – active right now.
By December 31, 2022, however, the second package is expected to be released, which will be richer and one new challengea new hero with related missions it’s still new clothing items for all characters. And the third package will do the same which will be launched by April 30, 2023.
To close the dance will come then, by the end of 2023, the most important DLC, the one in charge of significantly expanding the story (and it is said that, to do so, he can draw on characters and situations from previous chapters). The producer of the game Genki Yakota, questioned about the size that this last part of the Expansion Pass will have, spoke of a particularly ambitious project, claiming that the development team is working to make it comparable to the DLC Torna – The Golden Country of Xenoblade 2 This means, therefore, that we can expect at least others 20 hours of adventure:
We will be adding a new story at the end of the expansion pass, and are planning to expand it to the size of Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country. We hope that those who enjoyed that content, as well as newcomers, will welcome it. “
Yakota also commented on the future of the series. Although Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has been presented as the title that closes the circle of the events so far narrated by the saga, the producer has specified that obviously – as almost always applies to successful products – there will be new Xenoblades in the futureis that the wish is to carry on the series “As long as possible“.
