L’New York artistauthor of numerous solo exhibitions in modern art museums around the world, has in fact collaborated with Xiaomi to create alimited edition of the phone in line with its “Future Archeological” aesthetic.

Xiaomi 12T Pro Daniel Arsham Edition is a collector’s smartphone, which in the intentions of this collaboration becomes an iconic product that combines past, present and future in a contemporary design.

Playing with the textures of his sculptural proposals of natural obsolescence and erosion and thinking about the prospect of an imaginary future of digital dematerialization, Daniel Arsham has created a timeless object of “fictitious archaeology”, starting from sculptural box to the aesthetic and physical feel of the phone itself.

Daniel Arsham explains that he conceived “Xiaomi 12T Pro as if it were one sculpture whose purpose goes beyond being a functional object; in 20 years the people who will have it will no longer use it as a simple smartphone but as a sculptural object, linked to a particular historical moment and which goes beyond its functionality“.

Yiyang LiuHead of Co-branding of Xiaomi, explains that this collaboration is not “only focused on a smartphone, but on an advanced technology used to make the artist project. We believe it is a fascinating product for today’s people and will remain a collector’s item for decades to come“.
