XPeng not only thinks about creating new electric cars, but also a charging network to match the performance of its models: thus, presenting the XPeng G9, the Chinese company also showed a charging session with the S4 ultra-fast stall. During the demonstrationwhich lasted five minutes, the car, the first to be able to fully exploit the power delivered, has recharged the battery enough to have 210 km of autonomy, according to the CLTC cycle, starting from a SOC of less than 40%. The video shows the session starting with a power output higher than 150 kW and up to 400 kW in about a minute, to then conclude at over 440 kW; a remarkable result, especially when compared to the power of the columns of other competitors such as Tesla’s Superchargers (which in the V3 version reach “only” 250 kW) and Porsche Taycan (which charges up to 270 kW).

The first XPeng S4 charger coincided with the company’s 1,000th charging point and was installed at the Sunac Mall in Guangzhou and is also the company’s 1,000th charging point: in the near future XPeng plans to create 10 ultra fast charging points in cities with the highest number of G9s on the road, in order to support its customers in the daily use of the car. Next year the network will expand to the main motorways and major urban centers and, progressively, it will reach 2000 parking spaces by 2025.

At the moment the S4 stalls are intended only for the Chinese market while in Europe and North America the network of stalls with 350 kW CCS cable continues to expand
