A little surprisingly, the update to Android 13 stable for the users arrived on August 15th smartphone Pixel (even if not everyone is receiving it): among the various innovations of the new version of the operating system, there is also a new player for multimedia applications in the notification window, which is now also supported on YouTube. In any case, here you will find all the news of Android 13.

On the notification screen, when any multimedia content is playing from any application such as Spotify or YouTube, There has always been a notification that allows you to pause, change track or see what is missing at the end of the content. With Android 13, the design of this particular notification has been revamped and now the bar showing the progress of the content looks more a wave that swings (the image below makes everything clearer).

This new design is to be implemented by app developers, and to date only YouTube Music, Google Chrome, Google Podcasts, and a few others supported it. YouTube, however, has recently been updated and now the notification relating to video playback has definitely improved.

In addition to the new “wavy” bar, the play / pause button has been placed on the right of the notification, inside a round button that matches the color of the video cover. Also, the X button disappears to close the notification: in fact, just swipe to “delete” the notification without interrupting playback (even if only for Premium users).

Recall that this new design for the play notification was already available in the YouTube beta version, so some users with the beta of the app and Android 13 installed may already have seen it. In any case, all of this is now also available for the stable app: of course you need to have Android 13 as the operating system to see the new design.

The app YouTube for Android can be downloaded from the button below.
