8 Actors Redditors Would Love To See In A Star Wars Project

Season 1 of Andor concluded in what many fans are calling, not just a great Star Wars series, but one of the best shows on television. Fans also noticed that the show had some crossover with another popular series with a number of Game of Thrones actors popping up in Andor.

From Faye Marsay as Vel to Anton Lesser as Major Partagaz, Game of Thrones fans had plenty of faces to recognize in this Star Wars adventure. But fans on Reddit think there are even more Game of Thrones actors who would be a perfect fit for the galaxy far, far away and who they want to see in the Star Wars universe.

Ralph Ineson

Ralph Ineson is becoming one of the most recognizable character actors working today with roles in countless acclaimed movies and television shows. Many fans might have first noticed him for his role in season 2 of Game of Thrones as the ironborn soldier Degmer Cleftjaw who aids Theon Greyjoy in his attack on Winterfell.

Redditor Tootsiesclaw notes that Ineson has already appeared in Star Wars, “albeit just as a standing extra” in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. However, there are fans who feel he deserves a bigger role. With his rough and intense presence, Ineson could be a perfect rebel fighter similar to the characters seen in Andor.

Kit Harrington

Though some fans feel Jon Snow got worse throughout Game of Thrones, Kit Harrington helped him stay a heroic figure they could cheer for. He was effective at playing the honorable and brave hero who leads soldiers into battle and is willing to put his life on the line for the greater good.

While Harrington will seemingly be able to continue his heroics as Black Knight in the MCU, Redditor VulkanLovesHugs wants him in more franchises, asking “Can we have Kit Harrington in Star Wars?” However, their suggestion that he play Revan, a Jedi Knight turned Sith Lord, would allow Harrington to play a darker character than he is used to.

Charles Dance

Charles Dance had a long and celebrated career before joining Game of Thrones but many will always remember him as Tywin Lannister. Dance expertly played the cold and cunning leader of House Lannister who exuded power whenever he entered a scene and could intimidate anyone with just a stare.

One Redditor offers that they would “pay 20,000 republic credits to get Charles Dance into a Star Wars movie.” While they suggest any role would suit the actor, Dance was so effective at playing the calm evilness of Tywin that it is easy to see him stepping into a role as an Imperial officer. He would bring the same chilling gravitas that Grand Moff Tarkin had in the first movie.

Richard Madden

Robb Stark’s demise during the Red Wedding remains one of the most shocking television deaths of all time. The impact of it was helped by the fact that Richard Madden turned Robb into a character that fans wanted to see win. While Madden didn’t get the heroic glory he sought in Game of Thrones, the Star Wars universe could offer another chance.

Redditor BrewtalDoom admits they “could totally see him as Dash Rendar.” Dash was a character introduced in the video game side of Star Wars in Shadow of the Empire where he was the main character. Since then, fans have been wanting to see him appear in the movies and Madden might have the swagger needed for the character who shares more than a few similarities with Han Solo.

Michael McElhatton

Another character linked to the Red Wedding massacre in Game of Thrones is Roose Bolton. Though initially an ally of Robb, Roose betrays him to the Lannisters and is the one to put a dagger through his heart. Michael McElhatton played the role chillingly well, making for another villain who doesn’t need to raise his voice to seem like a threat.

Redditor Gearshift852 sees the similarities between Charles Dance and Michael McElhatton and insists they “need to appear in Star Wars at some point in the future.” Like Dance, McElhatton would be perfect for an Imperial officer role, carrying himself with that sense of superiority and a potential for ruthlessness.

Sean Bean

Though Ned Stark made some bad decisions on Game of Thrones, Sean Bean’s performance helped his legacy last long after the character’s end. Bean made Ned a character who may have been honorable to a fault but was also a strong leader, a skilled fighter, and a loving family man. His death also set a new course for the show overall.

Redditor irishtiger36 feels that Bean “would be a good fit in the Star Wars universe” and it is not hard to see why. Along with Game of Thrones, Bean also appeared in Lord of the Rings and always proves that he brings a grounded and human quality to his performance in even the biggest adventure stories.

Peter Dinklage

Despite being a massive ensemble, Peter Dinklage seems like the true star of Game of Thrones, making Tyrion Lannister perhaps the most likable character in the series. There are even many who feel Tyrion was the best choice to rule Westeros in the end. But those qualities could be put to good use in a Star Wars project.

Along with wanting him in the franchise, an interesting casting choice is offered with Dinklage as the villainous Admiral Thrawn. A major figure in the larger canon of Star Wars, fans have been waiting years to see Thrawn appear in a live-action project. Redditor whenyouwishuponapar feels that Dinklage’s role as Tyrion proves he can “walk that perfect line between warrior and philosopher.” It is an inventive choice that could be amazing.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is responsible for one of the best character arcs on Game of Thrones as Jaime Lannister. After pushing Bran Stark out of a window in the first episode, Jaime quickly became the most hated character on the show. But gradually, new sides of Jaime emerged with Coster-Waldau brilliantly playing the complexity of his character.

Redditor NoCommonSenseHere admits that “he is good at playing a likable villain” and it could make him a good choice for Agent Kallus. The character first appeared in Star Wars: Rebels as an Imperial officer who later defects to the Rebellion. The similarities with Jaime Lannister are clear, making Coster-Waldau an obvious fit for the role.
