Alia Bhatt is pregnant and mom Soni Razdan is over the moon with the happy news. Earlier today, Alia shared the news on Instagram with a picture from the ultrasound room. “Our baby ….. coming soon,” she captioned the picture as she lied on the bed with Ranbir seated on the side, both happily looking at the ultrasound screen. Speaking to ETimes, an elated Soni Razdan said it’s very overwhelming.

“I’m simply overjoyed. We all are. Bringing a new life into this world, creating a new life is the most important powerful and life affirming moment for two people… so, so happy for Ranbir and Alia! Cannot wait to welcome the little one and can’t wait to be a grandmother as well. It’s all to overwhelming,” she said.

Grandpa to be Mahesh Bhatt too had said to ETimes, “Ah, my baby is going to have a baby! I am so happy for Ranbir and Alia. May our ‘tribe’ increase. And now I have to prepare for the most important role of my life: The role of a Grandfather. This is going to be a grand debut.”

While the Kapoors and Bhatts rejoice over the new addition to the family, Ranbir seemed to have dropped hints about baby on the way during ‘Shamshera’ promotions last week. When quizzed about how much more work he will do post-marriage, he said that he has to make a family and hence will have to do lots of work. “Abhi mujhe bahot kaam karna hai sir. Abhi mujhe family banani hai, unke liye kaam karna hai. Pehle mai khudke liye kaam karraha tha. Nahi nahi, abhi mai bahot kaam karunga,” he said.
