With great ambition and a pinch of unscrupulousness, the made in Italy car boasts a new protagonist: Aehra. The first European startup of high-end electric carsin fact, aims to rewrite the rules of this industry by trying to make its way among the big names in the sector.
The company founded three years ago in the shadow of the Madonnina brings with it an Italian heritage in the production of luxury cars that has no equal in the world, but it does so with a natively electric and digital dna. This is demonstrated by the world announcement in Milan of Aehra’s SUVname that brings to mind the play on words between wasunderstood as a new era, e aerodynamics.
The car is made of composite materials, selected not only for their mechanical capabilities, but above all for their lightness and low environmental impact thanks to the use of recyclable materials up to five cycles and the use of recycled composites. The vehicle, with a monocoque entirely in carbon fiber, has a wheelbase of three meters and an overall length of five meters and a width of two. A spacious and comfortable vehicle, therefore, also characterized by the presence of four steering wheels and a weight of less than two tons.
The real distinctive element, in addition to the futuristic design, is represented by the great autonomy declared by the company: over 800 kilometers. A result obtained not only from the latest generation batteries but also from a skilful work of aerodynamics, in addition to the improvement of the thermal management of the batteries.
“Aehra – explains Alessandro Serra, Aehra Head of Design – has adopted an aerodynamic management that is unique in the world on EV cars, with movable elements at the front and rear, which offer the thrill and the taste of a sporty driving and at the same time an unprecedented safety, in terms of grip on the road in the electrical sector“.
It is certainly not an SUV that goes unnoticed, but the goal was precisely to amaze and surprise with bold aesthetic lines, with elytra doors and “Moto-Gp” style mirrors, so defined for their resemblance to those of motorcycles – which integrate cameras, increasing the aerodynamics of the car and noise reduction. “We should come up with a new acronym – explains Filippo Perini, Aehra Chief Design Officer – because I don’t think our car can be defined simply as an SUV.
The rims, the headlights, the sculpted front, the clean side, the rear, the roof that flows into a wing contribute to giving the car an original and clearly premium look. But behind the design there is also another element that wants to be central to Aehra: the strong commitment to environmental issues and sustainability.
“We are driven by sustainability. We find it in the materials, in the structure, in the aesthetics, in the design, in the production, but above all in our values. The car will be totally in carbon fiber, and other composite materials, starting from the body up to the smallest details, demonstrating how attention to innovative and sustainable processes are part of our DNA”Said Hazim Nada, CEO of Aehra.
The suv, which also promises to be quite brilliant in performance, with a maximum speed, limited to 265 km / h, will have a selling price of about 160/180 thousand euros. To get on board this spaceship on four wheels, however, we will have to wait for the 2025, estimated date of arrival on the market. In the meantime, enjoy it in the gallery below.
