In the last few hours they have emerged important news on the integration of these two services. We have long known integration of Lens into Assistantthrough options for automatic recognition of documents and images that is offered directly when the Assistant is started.
Google would be experimenting with one new option of Lens within Assistant. As you can see from the screenshot below, the new option is Search this screen. That option would take the screenshot of the current screen, and then provide access to Lens and its various sections Translate, Text, NearTasks, Shopping, Places And Catering.
The new option would be shown when starting Assistant when on any app that displays text or images, such as the web browser or a document viewer.
In short, it looks like a quick link to the acquisition of screenshots, which leads to the use of Lens according to its main categories of image and text recognition. The new option takes the place of the two connections Laws And Lens which we usually find when starting Assistant when texts and images are displayed.
The novelty is still being tested. On Reddit they claim to have received it on the Pixel 6 Pro, with the Google app updated to Google 13.33.9.29. We don’t see it, and so do you you may not have received it. We expect Google to decide whether to implement it publicly or not.
