Batman: Tim Burton’s film trailer redone as if it was due out today

Although difficult to summarize in a few lines, too the style of movie trailers has changed a lot over the decades: if in the past voiceovers were favored which, with a setting from classic narrators, explained the story and emphatically underlined its peculiar aspects with particular attention to the cast. Today, however, one prefers a tighter editing of the most striking scenes, accompanied by solemn or memorable music. In short, more than the atmosphere, we try to feed more action and suspense.

In this new clip the performances of Keaton, and even more that of Jack Nicholson as Joker, stand out in all their intensity, creating an excited contrast between good and evil, between the serious composure of the Bat Man and the coarse madness of his arch-nemesis. There modernity of Burton’s vision is still intact and even more so we understand the impact and influence that Batman had on the public: without this film there would not have been the mythical animated series of the nineties (still in some ways unparalleled) nor a resurgence of interest in superheroes and comics in general.
