PATNA: The overall pass percentage in intermediate exam conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board’s class XII result for all streams (science, commerce and arts) has slightly increased as 80.15% of students who appeared for the exam passed this year. Last year, the pass percentage was 78.04%.

Candidates, who appeared for the Bihar Board Class 12th examination 2022, can check their result online on the official website – http://www.results.biharboardonline.com/ – through candidate login using Roll Code and Roll No.

The result was released by the Bihar education minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary on Wednesday here at Auditorium, Education Department, Vikas Bhawan, Patna. The additional chief secretary (education) Sanjay Kumar and Board chairman Anand Kishor were also present on this occasion.
About 13,25,749 students including 6,41,829 girls and 6,83,920 boys had appeared for the examinations from February 1 to 14 at 1,471 exam centres across the state, of which 10,62,557 succeeded. The practical exams for class XII will be held from January 10 to 20

Total 4,52,171 students make it to first division, 5,10,831 passed with second division and 99,550 with third division whereas while 20,190 flunked in the examination. Altogether 464 examinees were expelled for using unfair means while 57 persons impersonating as candidates were arrested.

Sangam Raj topped the exam, securing 96.40 per cent. The second spot was bagged by Ankit Kumar Gupta who got a score of 94.60%%. Saurav Kuma has secured third rank with 94.40%.

Bihar Board is the first Board in the country to declare the results within 28 days from the day the last paper concluded. This is the fourth consecutive year the Board has released the result in such a short duration of time. Last year, the result was announced on March 26.

Kishor said the Bihar board has set a new record by declaring the results in just 10 days from the date of commencement of evaluation of answer copies. “More than 70 lakh bar-coded copies were evaluated by the teachers from February 26 to March 8. In a bid to reduce the burden on students amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the board has also increase the number of questions, giving more options to students,” he said.
