It is no secret that there was great participation in the public preview of Bing Chat, the evolution of the Microsoft search engine enriched by the ChatGPT technology, so much so that in no time at all all the critical points of a system in developing.

In recent weeks, both on the pages of HDblog and through other sources, you will have read that there have been episodes in which the chatbot has shown apparent signs of “imbalance”, generating senseless, or even worse, offensive and in many cases absurd responses, so to cause further curiosity and push more and more users to put artificial intelligence to the test.

To limit the risk of such interactions occurring too frequently, Microsoft has begun imposing usage limits, implementing an initial limit of 5 interactions per chat, with the latter limited to a maximum of 50 per day.

But the intention to take a step back arrived shortly, raising the daily chat limit to 60 and promising a further expansion of the meshes. And so in the last few hours Mikhail Parakhin, head of advertising and web services at Microsoft, posted on Twitter the most anticipated announcement and presented it as part of a big update of the chatbot: the first thing that catches the eye is the new daily limit of 100 chat rounds.

As visible from the tweet, the changes are many. Parakhin also said that Bing chat rosters that are Search Engine Results Page (SERP) queries no longer count towards the daily chat roster limit, and Edge’s sidebar limits issue has also been fixed. The manager also said that a new tagging system has been put in place. He says: “You should see significant improvements to Bing chat interaction”. Another message from Parakhin finally says:

And it’s a prerequisite for the long-awaited “Prompt v96” (we iterated a lot on prompts 🙂 ). V96 is making changes in tone of voice and loosening some constraints. It’s a prerequisite for increasing the number of turns cap and should launch today or tomorrow.
