Google continues to remove the branding “Go” from its apps dedicated to Android Go. Now it was the turn of “Go Camera”renamed as “Camera” (on the Play Store it is indicated as “Camera from Google”). This is the app designed for low-end Android smartphones, characterized by a lighter user interface and a counter that indicates the number of photos still to be taken before completely running out of internal memory.
The update, in addition to changing the name of the app, has also slightly changed the icon, now more similar to what can be found on the Google Pixel series. There are also functions such as “Google Lens”the “night mode” is that “portrait”which helps give photos a more professional look.
The same fate, in recent months, has befallen the app “Gallery” and “YouTube Go”, which will be phased out shortly. It is clear, therefore, the will of Google to initiate a profound change in Android 12 Go, the new release which should be presented in December. However, pending official confirmations, it could also be a simple brand update.
In the meantime, however, there are still some producers who believe in this Google project. In this case, we refer to Motorola, which seems to be preparing the launch of a new Android Go device, or the Moto G Go. Among the leaked rumors, the presence of a double rear photo sensor (13 and 2 MP respectively) and a 5 MP front one stands out. On the side, however, there should be the classic volume and shutdown buttons, in addition to the door USB Type-Cthe audio speaker and the jack for headphones. The smartphone, according to some advances, could be reserved for the US market.
