Chucky Season 2 Cast Confirms Filming Has Wrapped

Tiffany actress Jennifer Tilly has announced that filming on Chucky season 2 has wrapped, with new episodes airing beginning in October.

Chucky season 2 has wrapped filming. Don Mancini’s Syfy/USA Network TV series is based on his iconic Child Play horror franchise and takes place after the events of the seventh film, Cult of Chucky. The show features the return of Brad Dourif as the voice of the titular Good Guy doll, while Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, Christine Elise, and Jennifer Tilly come back to reprise their legacy roles. The story, however, largely revolves around a new group of teenagers as they grapple with sexuality, bullying, and domestic abuse while getting entwined in Chucky’s murderous rampage. Chucky season 2 was confirmed last November, and it’s been filming in Toronto since April with Meg Tilly, Gina Gershon, Joe Pantoliano, Tony Nappo, and Sutton Stracke joining as new characters.

Now, Jennifer Tilly has confirmed that filming on Chucky season 2 is complete. The actress made the announcement on Twitter as she posted a selfie with Mancini and some of her co-workers. Take a look at Tilly’s tweet below.

With production now out of the way, a trailer for Chucky season 2 doesn’t seem far off. Last month, Mancini treated enthusiastic viewers with a teaser for the show that featured the long-promised return of Glen/Glenda as well as Chucky’s new conflict with the religious figures at a Catholic school where the survivors of season 1 are seeking refuge. However, some questions remain unanswered, including what happens to Andy after he was last seen in a truck packed to the brim with Good Guy dolls, and in what capacity would Devon Sawa return after both of his characters were killed in season 1. Hopefully, now that filming on the second season of Chucky is complete, these conundrums will soon be resolved, and fans will also learn a bit more about the characters of the new additions to the show.
