DAZN: more price increases for new subscribers, and the Start plan checks out

Start of 2023 with a bang for DAZN. Indeed, rather than “with a bang” it would be fair to say with a new price increase. That’s right, the streaming service that currently holds the rights to exclusively broadcast most of the Serie A football matches has decided to further increase the price of its subscriptions. The good news is that, at least for now, this price adjustment will only affect new subscribers. But let’s not delay any longer and see how things change.

First, a new subscription plan is introduced, i.e. the Start plan. It is essentially a basic offer, dedicated to those who love sports other than football. Includes all Italian basketball and the best of European basketball, NFL, boxing, UFC and other fighting disciplines.

With the start plan you can register up to 4 devices and it will be possible to watch DAZN on two devices at the same time, only if connected to the same WiFi network. You can therefore watch DAZN on your TV and mobile phone, or tablet and mobile phone at the same time, but all devices must be connected to the same network.

The Start plan will be priced at 12.99 euros per month.

Plan DAZN Standard does not change in features compared to the past and will therefore allow you to register up to 6 devices, with the possibility of watching programs in streaming on two devices at the same time; also in this case, however, the two devices in question must be connected to the same WiFi network. It will therefore be possible to use the service even on the move but this will exclude playback on a second device connected to the home network.

The price of the standard plan therefore remains 29.99 euros per month, as long as you subscribe to the discounted annual plan. The latter has minimum stay of 12 months with a monthly payment of 29.99 euros. You can then possibly cancel the renewal directly from the “my account” area, but the cancellation will only take effect at the end of the 12 months.

Alternatively you can keep the flexibility of cancellation at any time with 30 days noticebut the monthly cost for the Standard plan will in this case change to 39.99 euros.

Plan DAZN Plus it is obviously the most complete and, compared to the Standard, allows you to to record up to 7 devices simultaneously but also, and above all, use the service on two devices at the same time, even if connected to different networks. It will therefore be possible to watch DAZN at home and at the same time on the move.

According to the DAZN regulation, this is a plan intended for people who live in a single household and the credentials cannot be shared with people who do not live together.

The price for the plan DAZN Plus therefore goes from 39.99 euros to 44.99 euros per month. As above, this is the discounted price linked to the subscription of the 12-month annual plan. In this case, if you will maintain the flexibility of cancellation with 30 days notice the price for the Plus plan goes to 54.99 euros.

As we said at the beginning all these news will concern only new subscribers, i.e. those who will sign up for a subscription from scratch starting today 2 January 2023. Those who are already DAZN customers and use one of the subscriptions described above will not be affected by these increases and by changes in the contractual conditions. The prices for these users therefore remain 29.99 euros for Standard users and 39.99 for Plus users, with no restrictions in terms of cancellation.

At this point we hope that the price increase will also be followed by an increase in the quality of the service which, again in recent months, has been affected by disservices which have required the company to reimburse part of the subscription fees of many users.
