Unfortunately, it has become increasingly unlikely that Fantastic Beasts 4 will happen since the previous movies have failed to make a profit for Warner Bros. Ultimately, including them in the prequel movies in a way that further enhanced Harry’s story could have made the Fantastic Beasts movies a success. This would have meant a fully cohesive story with the established lore instead of a plot that was hammered in to fit where it simply didn’t.
Thankfully, there are still several canonical plot points in Harry Potter that could use further elaboration. This is especially true when considering the details established by the books that were left out of the Harry Potter movies. There wasn’t much time in Deathly Hallows to get into the nuances of how the Hallows worked, but that doesn’t mean future films in the Wizarding World franchise couldn’t fill in the gaps (as the Fantastic Beasts franchise should have). A successful Harry Potter spin-off needs a big explanatory moment that enhances the lore—which Fantastic Beasts woefully missed out on.
