The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:), which fell 6.47% or 2.70 points to trade at 39.04 at the close. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) declined 5.66% or 19.10 points to end at 318.30 and Zalando SE (ETR:) was down 4.69% or 1.15 points to 23.35.

The top performers on the MDAX were Stabilus (ETR:) which rose 3.15% to 52.45, Aurubis AG (ETR:) which was up 2.88% to settle at 69.34 and Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR:) which gained 2.73% to close at 65.80.

The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 2.40% to 56.86 in late trade, Kion Group AG (ETR:) which lost 2.35% to settle at 36.49 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:) which was down 2.31% to 65.24 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Atoss Software AG (ETR:) which rose 2.87% to 215.00, United Internet AG NA (ETR:) which was up 2.20% to settle at 19.97 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) which gained 1.68% to close at 11.82.

The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) which was down 5.66% to 318.30 in late trade, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:) which lost 3.59% to settle at 40.00 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 2.40% to 56.86 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 351 to 296 and 94 ended unchanged.

Shares in Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR:) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.73% or 1.75 to 65.80.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.12% to 15.34.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.06% or 1.15 to $1,952.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.26% or 0.24 to hit $90.82 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.19% or 0.18 to trade at $94.61 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 104.79.
