Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the added 0.18%, while the index added 0.15%, and the index lost 0.36%.

The best performers of the session on the were Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:), which rose 2.37% or 0.71 points to trade at 30.66 at the close. Meanwhile, Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:) added 2.17% or 1.54 points to end at 72.42 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:) was up 1.93% or 1.30 points to 68.64 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:), which fell 2.83% or 9.70 points to trade at 333.20 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:) declined 2.10% or 0.51 points to end at 23.80 and Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:) was down 0.97% or 0.94 points to 96.30.

The top performers on the MDAX were Duerr AG (ETR:) which rose 2.82% to 29.12, Kion Group AG (ETR:) which was up 2.59% to settle at 34.83 and Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (ETR:) which gained 2.38% to close at 8.27.

The worst performers were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:) which was down 3.62% to 8.52 in late trade, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:) which lost 2.85% to settle at 105.80 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) which was down 2.43% to 11.22 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:) which rose 2.09% to 85.50, Aixtron SE (ETR:) which was up 1.67% to settle at 30.47 and Qiagen NV (ETR:) which gained 0.67% to close at 42.31.

The worst performers were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:) which was down 3.62% to 8.52 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) which lost 2.83% to settle at 333.20 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) which was down 2.43% to 11.22 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 315 to 302 and 129 ended unchanged.

Shares in Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.17% or 1.54 to 72.42.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.96% to 14.77 a new 3-years low.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.07% or 21.05 to $1,979.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.85% or 1.34 to hit $71.19 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.59% or 1.22 to trade at $75.73 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.78% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.72% at 103.31.
