The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has made corrections in 103 class 12 general stream students’ marks after rechecking their answer sheets. Of these, there are 25 students who were declared failed in two subjects but passed in one subject after rechecking their answer sheets. These 25 students will now be able to take the supplementary exam in July. GSHSEB allows students to take supplementary exams to Class 12 students who have failed in one subject.
Board sources said that about 8,000 students had applied for rechecking of their 15,000 answer sheets.
The board had declared Class 12 general stream results on May 31. Results showed that the highest failures were registered in English followed by Economics. Gujarati as the first language subject also registered a high number of failures.
A closer look at the results show that 54,239 students failed in English as the second language while 38,945 students failed in Economics. In Gujarati as the first language, 33,789 students failed.
Sources said that the students who are now eligible for taking the supplementary exam will have to apply latest by July 3.
